The Amazing Trip to Waitakere Ranges

We went to Waitakere Ranges by bus and when we got there we had some morning tea. Then we went off to go to our first activity . One of the groups went to do the bush walk and the other went somewhere else . We went with Room 23 ,we split up and set off to do our activtiy, the bush walk. We saw lots of native trees like the Tea tree and Kauri and the Silver Fern and Brown Fern. There were lots more and we saw a Tui and Wood Pigeon . We met our guide and their names were Simon and Olly and some others. After that we had some lunch. Then we went to our next activity and it was when you used the poter and we patnered up. There was a person who got the soil and wacked the wood on the tray and then there was a person who would suck the pipe and the bug would go in to a container and it could not come back up. Then we went back on the bus and drove back to school and went in to the class and sat on the mat then the bell rang and we went home .

Some Camp Adair Photos

Back from Camp Adair

What a fantastic few days! The children were so well behaved which made camp much easier. They tell me that they had a really great time. I think their favourite part was putting salt in my Milo.

I personally had a brilliant time. I also want to say a huge thank you to all the parents who came and helped. We could not have done it without you. We all hope that you enjoyed it.

Before Camp

I am feeling quite scared as I have never been to camp before. I am excited because I will have the chance to try to overcome my fear of heights, but I am not sure if I'll be able to get to sleep at night. Most people don't want it to rain but some do and then we will get really muddy. I am happy that I will get the experience of camp.

I am feeling really excited about camp which starts on Monday 30 March. I will get do jump off great heights and slide down a mudslide. I will also get to do an obstacle course, if the weather will be fine. I also get to share a cabin with my friends.

More about St Patrick's Day at our school

We have been making St Patrick's Day things out of paper and cardbord. We are going to do an Irish dance for all the teachers on Tuesday and we have been practicing our dance. It is only Jess,Izabelle,Paris and Niamh who are going to do it in the staff room. It is going to be lots of fun.

St Patrick's Day is coming to Maungawhau

Today we are making decorations for St Patrick's Day. We have also been colouring in pictures of leprechauns and shamrocks really hard. We also have been making green hats and green paper chains. Some have made pots of gold too. We are going to put these decorations in the staffroom.

Swimming sports has been and gone. What a fantastic day. I had a lot of fun and I know the kids did too. We had lovely parents helping us out so a big thank you to them. We had great teachers and staff making sure the day ran smoothly and a big thank you to them too.

A really big, humungous thank you to the kids who behaved really well and competed to the best of their abilities. I must say that Room 20 has a great bunch of swimmers in it. Well done guys.
